How best dry blackberry leaves preserving the medicinal value?

Q. Do wild blackberry leaves keep their medicinal value when dried in a dehydrator, or is it best to dry naturally?

I'm having some severe health problems right now and finding that the wild blackberry leaf tea is working wonders so have picked a huge batch to dry now.

Also, if you know, I read that the leaves are most potent if picked before or when the plants are blooming. Is there any merit to that?

Thanks very much in advance.

A. Iâve done a little research on this and discovered a few bits of information that might be useful. One suggestion came from the following site:

http://www.natural-healing-guide.com/Therapeutic-Teas/Blackberry-Leaf-Tea.htm

You might find the paragraph that states the following helpful,

âFermenting the blackberry leaves enhances their flavor and therapeutic effect. To ferment, crush slightly wilted blackberry leaves with a rolling pin. Wrap the leaves in a damp cloth and hang them in a warm place. After two or three days, the leaves will exude a rose like scent. At this point, remove the leaves from the cloth; let them dry before usingâ

This website supports what you appear to have already discovered:

http://www.pickyourown.org/DHbasilmint.htm

One sentence in the article states:
âThe best time to cut herbs for drying is just before they flower. This is when the leaves have the most oil, which is what gives herbs aroma and flavor.â I recall from my distant past that marijuana growers and users find the flower tops to be the most potent part of this plant so this could very possibly be true of other plants like blueberry.

Hope this helps and that youâre feeling better soon.

How can have the blackberry 9700 user interface on a different BLACKBERRY?
Q. I have the blackberry 8330 from boost mobile. I just don't like the UI on the 8330. So can any of you tech savvy people around here help me. So my question is can it be done and how.
Thanks.

A. There is no way you can have an exact replica of the Blackberry 9700 user interface on your Blackberry 8330.

What you can first do is upgrade the operating system on your 8330 and see if you are satisfied with the interface. If you would like to take an extra plunge into beta operating systems which tend to yield better performance and occasionally some extra goodies please feel free to do so at your own discretion but you may want to review your contract with Boost Mobile just in case. And if you would like to take an even deeper plunge go for hybrids that are created by putting different aspects of different operating systems build by 3rd party developers. Go to crackberry.com for more information on betas and hybrids along with other goodies for your blackberry.

Another option is to download a theme for your Blackberry from an app store or through an over-the-air download link.

How do I change my blackberry from old Blackberry version to new?
Q. I have the Blackberry 8330 World Edition from Sprint that operates with the old blackberry software(the one with the road as the background). Is it possible that I can update the software to new software on the phones they sell now?

Well i got a BlackBerry Nextel 8350i with 128mb of RAM its super slow but blackberry dont care they put the 4.6 and 5.0 into the 8350i your phone haves 96mb of RAM and theres a geeky way to get Blackberry OS 5.0 but i dont really recommend it my phone (8350) its a hell it is always slow but if you want to just download the blackberry 5 os updater and delete the vendor archive if u want step by step guide just search it on youtube there one

How much is a Blackberry per month on Verizon Wireless, and is it really worth it?

Q. I think I want a Blackberry, but am unsure of the monthly extra charges from Verizon, but what makes the blackberry worth it?

A. for any smart phone, including the Blackberry, you will have to get the $29.99 a month data plan. in my opinion, if you will use the internet daily and check your email frequently, then it's almost worth it, but that's your decision if you want to spend the extra 30 dollars a month. also in my opinion if you do not use the internet every day then it's not worth it. good luck deciding.

How can i reset a blackberry or get past the security lock?
Q. I just bought a blackberry off of some guy but i can't do anything on it besides make a call because i don't know the password. So is there some way to just reset the blackberry or bypass the security lock?

A. There is a way to reset the Blackberry in order to bypass the security lock. Keep in mind doing this will wipe all information on the device. The information which is wiped off the device itself would be (emails, photos, stored addresses and contacts, programs)
But the assigned phone number and the ability to make/receive calls will remain afterwards.

-Enter the wrong password until you run out of password attempts. (you will need to enter the word blackberry after the at the last attempt (Blackberry devices default to 10 password attempts)
-When you get to this point the device will wipe itself. This process normally takes several minutes. Afterwards the device will appear to have shut off and will restart itself.

-Keep in mind also. Pulling the battery can count as a password attempt

Does Blackberry poll the server every fifteen minutes to update the information for the user?

Q. Some say the Blackberry goes to the server every 15 minutes to check for any data in the email, this process is called 'Polling' and others reveal that the BlackBerry does not poll the server to look for updates. It simply waits for the update to arrive and notifies the user when it does. What is the correct answer?

A. The Blackberry, like every cell type of device polls. But it does not mean what you describe. The polling that takes place is a "keep-alive" type of data packet. The purpose is to let the network know where the phone is located physically on the network at any given time. As a user moves from place to place the cell towers keep a record of those movements so that when you want to make a call or send data of any type you will already be connected and ready go. This is how you get an "always on" connection.

The polling intervals vary by providers but they are generally constant IE every so many seconds or nanoseconds.

If the network receives a piece of data destine for your device, the network sends the data immediately after it arrives. The network does not wait for any length of time beyond the time it takes to forward the message. There can be delays caused by no or poor signal in which case the information is stored until the connection is restored and is then downloaded.

My BlackBerry won't connect to the internet, receive emails and BlackBerry Messenger does not work?
Q. I recently changed the sim card of my BlackBerry 8520 from an 02 sim to a giffgaff one. Since then, the phone has been unable to connect to the internet or use any data. The phone is also permanently stuck on 'gprs' mode and will not connect to a 3g network. I am also unable to log in to my BlackBerry ID. I would appreciate opinions on this matter, thank you!

A. Things to do (in my opinion):
1. Try to put the Oâ SIM card back in your BlackBerry device and check whether it's now able to connect to the internet and you are able to use all the BlackBerry service (BBM, Log in to BlackBerry ID, etc) like before » Please make sure that both your Oâ and GiffGaff are registered to the BlackBerry Internet Service.

If the problem persists...

2. Try to contact the GiffGaff provider's Customer Service and ask them for help.

If the problem stay still...

3. Try to check whether your BlackBerry device is locked by a provider or not. You can ask about this to the place where you bought your BlackBerry device.
(A locked-by-a-single-provider BlackBerry device usually sold as one in a bundling -BlackBerry handset with a SIM card already- and sometimes there's a provider brand logo stamped on the BlackBerry device)

If the problem still persist (again)...

4. Try to check whether your BlackBerry device got an error/bug(s) in its device software.
For this one, you need to check your BlackBerry device software version by typing: "myver" (without the quotation mark) anywhere on your BlackBerry device, then check on the internet, what's the latest version of the BlackBerry 8520 device software. If your device software is not up to date, you may need to upgrade your BlackBerry device software (newer device software usually contains a lot of bug and error fixes, etc).

Hope one of the solutions there help you solve the problem.

How does blackberry internet differ from that of a regular cell phone?
Q. I have Verizon and am confused on how blackberry's work versus regular cell phones. If you turn off internet access on a blackberry, you cannot make phone calls or text messages. Why is this? Does their internet function on a different frequency? Can anyone explain how a blackberry works?

A. Firstly, the answer has nothing to do with the question that was asked. Secondly, you can have the data plan off the phone on a CDMA network as long as the provisioning features are on the account. You won't see EX, you would only see 1x instead of the usual 1XEV on a CDMA networks like Verizon. I should know coz I am a Tech Solutions Expert.

But more importantly, to answer the real question. Whats the difference between the internet on a cell and a BB device. HUGE Difference. Cell phone provider's give limited access to browser capabilities since most of the cell phone data plans are really cheap and are unlimited.

On a cell phone you can mainly browse to the links that the cell phone provider puts on their WAP Portal. Yes they would include the most basic functions such as checking your mail (hotmail, yahoo, gmail) and of course Facebook.

But 90% of the times when you try to browse to a normal site it wouldn't work. if it does awesome! If it doesn't then the provider doesn't support it.

On the other hand Blackberry's internet is a real internet on your phone. It is only limited by the website's inability to work properly on a data devices. However, 90% of the wesbites would work flawlessly.

I hope that kinda helped you out.

Cheers

Q. I use a blackberry pearl and yahoo. Every time I send an email from my blackberry, a copy of it shows in my "sent" folder in Yahoo. I don't want any of the messages to save there. How do I get it to stop?
If I send mail through my regular account (on my laptop, not my blackberry) it doesn't save a copy in the sent folder. Only when I send it using the blackberry....

A. Go into your Yahoo account, go into options, then mail options and deselect the "Save a copy of the message in the Sent folder" box.

You can also send directly from your BlackBerry but have your Yahoo address as the return address. This can be set up in your BlackBerry email account options, either from the phone itself or by going to your account online.

Cheers

How much is a Blackberry per month on Verizon Wireless, and is it really worth it?
Q. I think I want a Blackberry, but am unsure of the monthly extra charges from Verizon, but what makes the blackberry worth it?

A. for any smart phone, including the Blackberry, you will have to get the $29.99 a month data plan. in my opinion, if you will use the internet daily and check your email frequently, then it's almost worth it, but that's your decision if you want to spend the extra 30 dollars a month. also in my opinion if you do not use the internet every day then it's not worth it. good luck deciding.

Cheers
