Purchased a new Blackberry Pearl but the battery seems to die fast. Is it normal to have to charge everyday?

Q. I don't use it much, does it just use a lot of power to be on? If I put it in standby mode would that help save battery, and will I still be able to receive text messages and phone calls?
Any information about this phone would be wonderful!

A. The Pearls battery is not the largest. Some things you can do to conserve battery power are:

1. Lower the screen brightness: you can do this by going to Options > Screen/Keyboard. I set mine to 10

2. Don't use vibrate notifications. The vibrate function uses more battery power than tone notifications.

3. Put in standy while not using it.

With normal usage I can typically get a day and a half out of the device. If I take a lot of calls and they are long then maybe a day.

I just got new blackberry, How do I set up which applications is displayed on the Home screen?
Q. I got a new Blackberry Curve the other day. The home screen display shows several applications including Messages, Calender, Call Log and Applications.

Is there a way for me to change the applications that are displayed?

A. Click the main blackberry button, (the one beside the green phone button). Here you should see a full list of all the blackberry applications. The first row is what appears on the main screen. Move the application you want up to the front row.

How much does the new blackberry torch 9800 cost?
Q. Okay , i'm planning to get a blackberry torch 9800 & online it says $49.99 , see iv never bought a phone online so i'm a noob at this , is it really $49.99 ?

A. Buying online is the same as buying in the store, the discount price requires a new contract/ contract extension. This price doesn't include taxes or new connection fees
